About Our Oil Lamp
This handcrafted Tibetan butter lamp set for the shrine, 96cm tall and 45cm wide, is a wonderful Buddhist ritual relic traditionally used in temples, monasteries, and sacred altars. These ritual lamps are made of high-quality copper with pure silver ornamentation and weigh 9.52kg each, for a total weight of 19.04kg.
These enormous, beautifully constructed butter lamps offer light, symbolizing the removal of darkness, ignorance, and negativity while welcoming wisdom, clarity, and enlightenment. The offering symbols and flower carvings on the base are silver, but the entire butter lamp is copper-crafted. The butter lamp features a long-life vase with a Kirtimukha in the center, surrounded by flowing silver-carved motifs.
Offering butter lamps is regarded as an act of devotion and compassion in Tibetan Buddhism to accumulate merit, purify karma, and guide the soul to liberation. The elaborate silverwork features sacred Buddhist patterns, bringing a celestial presence to any spiritual setting. These butter lamps exemplify spiritual illumination, used in everyday prayers, celebrations, or as a symbolic temple component. They are ideal for monasteries, meditation halls, and private shrines, adding a profound spiritual dimension to any sacred situation.
Introduction to Oil Lamp
Butter lamps are traditional items used in monasteries and homes. The Himalayan craft is made with gold and silver. This lamp looks unique and is also known as an offering lamp because it is used for offering deities that represent light and knowledge. Yak ghee or butter is used traditionally to light up the lamp.
