About Our Product

This Wooden Damaru Ritual Instrument is a sacred Tibetan Buddhist drum handcrafted from wood with detailed white metal embellishments. Measuring 11 cm in height, 22 cm in length, and 22 cm in width, with a weight of 0.91 kg, this traditional ritual instrument represents the profound connection between sound, awareness, and spiritual practice. Designed for Vajrayana rituals, meditation spaces, Buddhist altars, and sacred collections, it reflects the rich craftsmanship and symbolism of Himalayan ritual art.

The Damaru features intricate carvings of auspicious symbols and skull motifs around its decorated surface, representing blessings, transformation, and the understanding of impermanence. The skull designs symbolize the transformation of ordinary perception into enlightened wisdom, while the auspicious motifs represent spiritual harmony and positive qualities. The drum is accompanied by a beautifully designed cover, protecting the sacred instrument while adding to its traditional appearance.

In Tibetan Buddhist practice, the Damaru is used during tantric ceremonies and prayers, creating rhythmic sounds that symbolize the union of wisdom and compassion. This handcrafted drum serves as both a sacred ritual instrument and a meaningful piece of Himalayan art. Displayed in a shrine room, meditation area, or spiritual collection, it becomes a reminder of mindfulness, transformation, devotion, and the sacred traditions of Tibetan Buddhism.

Introduction To Tibetan Drum:

A Chod drum, integral to the Chod spiritual practice in Tibetan Buddhism, is a unique and symbolic instrument. Also known as a damaru, this small, double-sided hand drum has a narrow waist connecting two drumheads. The drum's shape is often likened to the hourglass, embodying the union of wisdom and compassion. Used by Chod practitioners during ritualistic ceremonies, the drum's rhythmic beating is believed to connect with the sacred energies, facilitating meditation and the realization of emptiness. The Chod drum, with its ritualistic role, underscores the synthesis of sound, spirituality, and meditation in Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
