About Our Product

This Vajrayana Altar Butter Lamp is traditionally designed for light offerings during meditation, prayer, and puja rituals. Measuring 22 cm in height, it features a spacious 15.5 cm offering bowl with a 7 cm inner depth, supported by an elegant pedestal base. The combination of warm brass accents and reflective white metal creates a graceful contrast, making the lamp suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation rooms, temples, and personal sacred spaces.

The upper bowl is decorated with delicately engraved floral patterns and bordered by polished brass bands along the rim and lower edge. Its sculpted central stem connects the bowl to a tiered pedestal, where additional hand-carved motifs enrich the surface. The flared 11 cm base provides visual balance, while the rounded contours and carefully finished details reflect the traditional metalworking skills of Himalayan artisans.

In Buddhist practice, offering light represents the clearing of ignorance and the awakening of wisdom. Introduction To The Butter Lamp :

The whole process of offering a butter lamp is also a very spiritual practice. The traditional practice of preparing a butter lamp starts by washing one’s hand, wearing a mask to protect from contaminating the butter lamp through one’s breath, making the wick out of pure cotton, and cleaning the chalices with a clean piece of cloth reserved for this or fresh mosses from the trees, which was commonly used in old times. The whole process is a meditative spiritual practice, which engages a person both physically and mentally, if the person knows and practices it according to the norms.
