About Our Product
This Traditional Tibetan Ritual Sword is crafted from iron, measuring 50cm in height, 10cm in length, and 5cm in width, with a weight of 0.99 kg. Made in 2010, this ceremonial sword features elaborate ornamental carvings, a richly decorated handle, and a traditional Himalayan design. Its aged iron finish and intricate decorative patterns reflect the artistic character of Tibetan ritual metalwork. This Buddhist ceremonial sword is suitable for monastery shrines, personal altars, meditation rooms, spiritual displays, and collections of traditional Himalayan ritual artifacts.
The Tibetan ritual sword features an elongated ornamental upper section with a pointed, flame-shaped outline decorated with curling motifs, raised patterns, and small openwork details. Its central surface displays faint engraved designs, while a diagonal decorative band crosses the lower portion. Below, an elaborate floral ornament surrounds the transition to the handle, featuring layered petals and intricate relief carvings. The narrow grip displays a repeating textured pattern and ends in a rounded decorative band. At the bottom, a small vajra-shaped finial completes the design. The aged brown iron surface highlights the detailed carvings and distinctive appearance of this traditional Himalayan ceremonial object.
In Tibetan Buddhist traditions, ritual swords are associated with wisdom, protection, and the symbolic removal of ignorance and spiritual obstacles. The sword represents the power of enlightened understanding to overcome confusion and negative influences, while the vajra symbolizes indestructible wisdom and spiritual strength. Its flame-inspired ornamentation can also be understood as a symbol of transformative wisdom. This traditional Tibetan ritual sword is suitable for Buddhist altar displays, ceremonial collections, meditation spaces, and shrine decoration. It also makes a meaningful addition to collections of Himalayan Buddhist art and traditional ritual instruments.
Introduction To The Kartika Knife :
While the Kartika is used in many Buddhist rituals, generally in connection with the kapala (skullcap), it is especially essential in the Tibetan practice of Chöd, a ritual involving self-sacrifice in which the practitioner visualizes their own body as an offering at a tantric feast. The Kartika is also famous for its use in the Tibetan sky burial ritual, where dead bodies are cut into small pieces and left on top of special gats or burial platforms for the vultures to consume. Unexpectedly, the Kartika is also used in Feng Shui practice.
