About our Prayer Wheel
This Traditional Tibetan Mani Prayer Wheel is a handcrafted devotional object featuring a wooden handle, a cylindrical prayer wheel, and a hanging weight that moves as the wheel is rotated. Measuring 21cm in height and 5cm in width, the prayer wheel weighs 0.082 kg and combines wood, copper, and brass in its construction. Its compact form makes it easy to hold and use during personal Buddhist practice.
The cylindrical wheel is decorated with traditional Tibetan mantra characters and bordered by raised ornamental patterns. A pointed finial crowns the top, while the lower section connects the wheel to a shaped wooden handle. A cord extending from the side holds a small rounded weight that swings outward as the wheel turns. The underside also reveals a circular decorative panel with mantra characters arranged around the central hub.
In Tibetan Buddhist practice, a mani prayer wheel is rotated as a devotional practice associated with the recitation and contemplation of mantras. This handcrafted piece can be used during personal prayer and meditation or displayed alongside other Buddhist ritual objects. Introduction to Prayer Wheel
A prayer wheel is cylindrical on a spindle and is used in Tibetan Buddhism. It is typically inscribed with the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" and rotated by hand as a form of spiritual practice and to accumulate merit. Spinning the wheel is believed to have the same spiritual benefits as verbally reciting the mantra. The use of prayer wheels is widespread in Tibetan Buddhism and has spread to other cultures.

The benefits associated with rotating the wheel are numerous. It promotes knowledge, compassion, and bodhicitta in the practitioner and improves siddhis (spiritual powers such as clairvoyance, precognition, etc.). The practitioner can repeat the mantra as often as possible while the wheel is rolling, maintaining a calm, meditative attitude. A Tibetan Buddhist tradition holds that after a practice session, one should dedicate any acquired merits to the benefit of all sentient beings. Then three times Om Ah Hum. This is usually among Tibetans after finishing any Buddhist practice, including the prayer wheel exercise.
