To highlight the unique design patterns of the sculpture, the figure is delicately painted with acrylic paint on a copper body that has been carefully carved and gilded with 24k genuine gold. The Dakini is seen dancing on top of a human corpse with her left leg lifted and bearing a wrathful expression. She draws a gold bow with two hands, preparing to launch a magnificently carved arrow with a shaft decorated with flowers. Kurukulla is an aspect of Tara and is also known as Red Tara. Her Tibetan name is Rigjyedma, meaning “she who is the cause of knowledge.” She bestows these qualities upon her followers, enabling them to sway others to their wishes and fulfill their desires. Her powerful charms also will allow her to lead straying practitioners back to the path of Dharma compassionately.
