This Traditional Three Sided Ritual Dagger measures 18cm in height, 3.5cm in length, and 3.5cm in width, with a weight of 0.21 kg. Crafted from oxidized copper, this handcrafted Tibetan ritual object features a three-sided blade, detailed central figure, and traditional ornamental elements. The dark aged finish highlights the engraved details across the handle, crown, and blade, reflecting the traditional style of Himalayan ritual craftsmanship. The Phurba represents the transformation of negative forces, protection, and the overcoming of obstacles on the spiritual path.
This Three Sided Ritual Dagger features a three-edged blade, which symbolizes the cutting away of ignorance, attachment, and harmful influences. The upper section displays a detailed Vajrakilaya (Dorje Phurba) deity face, the enlightened wrathful deity traditionally associated with the Phurba practice. The fierce expression represents the powerful transformation of obstacles, negative forces, and inner disturbances into wisdom and awakened awareness. The central handle includes carved decorative patterns and a lotus-inspired design, while the pointed blade represents focused spiritual energy and the ability to stabilize challenging forces. In Vajrayana Buddhism, the Phurba is considered a sacred ritual tool associated with purification, protection, and transforming difficult energies into wisdom.
This Tibetan ritual dagger can be displayed on a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation room, Dharma space, or spiritual collection. It serves as a meaningful representation of Vajrayana symbolism, reminding practitioners of inner transformation, awareness, and the strength to overcome obstacles.
Introduction of Phurba
The ceremonial dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: phurba) is essential for expelling evil and is considered particularly effective in neutralizing the forces obstructing Tantric Buddhist practice. It has ancient origins, first appearing in the Indian Rig Veda as the core blade of the vajra used by Indra to destroy the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Kila, derived from Sanskrit, was most likely associated with Vedic sacrifices. Meditation on the Vajrakila Tantra, an early Indian scripture first promoted in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, is used to invoke the three-headed Vajrakila Buddha.

The level of craftsmanship by the artisans with Evam Ratna is truly exceptional.. The photos on the website showcase these beautiful items, but the special quality of their presence is felt when beheld directly. When I opened the carefully constructed package and encountered the ghanta, vajra,, rupa, and damaru tassels directly, I was overjoyed. I could feel the heart and care that went into their creation.

The Manjushri statue I purchased is of very high quality and has tremendous presence on my altar, far exceeding my expectations. It was well packed and arrived surprisingly quickly. Evam Ratna kept me informed throughout the process and even shared additional photos before shipping to ensure I was aware that the statue had oxidized somewhat since the pictures on the site were taken (not an issue but really appreciate the transparency). The statue came in excellent condition! I was worried especially since I had it consecrated before shipping (which evamratna offers for a fee if you ask!) But the statue came perfectly. Also, it was way bigger than I anticipated which was a lovely surprise, because usually the statues come smaller than I thought when initially buying them. These statues are pricy, but I recommend having at least one in your collection if you can afford it. You’re also supporting local Nepalese craftsmen, and the price I find is reasonable for most people.
