Note: Vajrasattva Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.
Like other Buddhist deities, Vajrasattva denies the concept of self. As a result, neither "who" nor "what" exists. Vajrasattva is thought to be none other than ourselves, manifested as a pristine Buddha. Vajrasattva can be considered an emanation of Akshobya, Vajradhara, or Samantabhadra. Vajrasattva is no different from any other Buddha in terms of ultimate reality. However, Vajrasattva can be described as a kind and loving God. None of these things are accurate at the moment, and none genuinely characterize Vajrasattva.
