About Our Product

This Traditional Chitipati Protector Sculpture Set is a finely handcrafted representation of Chitipati, the skeletal protector figures known in Tibetan Buddhist and Himalayan traditions. The set is created from a copper body using the traditional repousse technique and finished with gold plating, showcasing detailed craftsmanship across the skeletal structure, facial expressions, ornaments, and pedestal bases. The pair features expressive skull-like faces, detailed ribs, articulated limbs, and carefully shaped decorative elements that highlight the skill involved in traditional metal artistry.

The figures depict the iconic Chitipati skeleton form, with large skull heads, wide expressive eyes, open mouths, exposed rib cages, and elongated skeletal bodies. The detailed bone-like structure represents the symbolic nature of Chitipati imagery, which is associated with impermanence, transformation, and awareness of the nature of existence. Traditionally depicted as a pair in Tibetan Buddhist art, the dancing skeletal figures are connected with teachings on overcoming attachment and recognizing the changing nature of life. The repousse technique enhances the depth of the carved details, giving the figures a distinct three-dimensional appearance.

This Gold-Plated Chitipati Set is suitable for Buddhist altars, shrine rooms, meditation spaces, monasteries, ritual collections, galleries, and collectors of Himalayan sacred art. The combination of traditional iconography, handcrafted copper repousse work, gold finishing, and paired composition makes this sculpture set a distinctive representation of Tibetan Buddhist artistic heritage. It serves as both a sacred symbolic object and a remarkable example of Himalayan metal craftsmanship.

Introduction of Chittipati

Chittipati, often referred to as the Lord of the Cremation Grounds, represents the powerful Buddhist concept of impermanence. Depicted as dancing skeletal figures, Chittipati reminds practitioners of the transient nature of life and the importance of spiritual liberation. Despite their fearsome appearance, Chittipati's dance symbolizes the victory over ego and attachment, helping devotees to transcend the material world and embrace the truth of death and rebirth.
