This Traditional Altar Kadampa Chorten is a handcrafted Tibetan Buddhist sacred sculpture measuring 33cm in height, 18.5cm in length, and 18.5cm in width, with a weight of 3.52 kg. Made from a copper body with gold and acrylic color, gemstone, coral, and turquoise details, this ornate chorten features a broad stepped base, rounded central structure, shrine opening, tiered upper sections, and a richly decorated canopy. The combination of warm red tones, golden ornamentation, and colorful gemstone details creates a distinctive Himalayan Buddhist artwork for altars, meditation spaces, and sacred collections.

This Kadampa Chorten features elaborate handcrafted details throughout the chorten. The broad base is decorated with raised lotus inspired motifs, scrolling patterns, and floral ornamentation. The rounded central section showcases a rich red finish accented with fine gold borders, delicate rope like detailing, floral medallions, and carefully placed turquoise and coral stones. Fine ornamental lines flow across the body, with small floral accents and decorative pendant motifs arranged along the curved surface. The front shrine opening is framed by an intricate carved panel featuring a prominent mythical face, curling foliage, and ornamental figures. Above the central section, the red conical roof is formed with multiple raised horizontal bands and is bordered with colorful turquoise and coral details. The upper canopy is richly decorated with small sculptural figures, ornate gold patterns, hanging jewel like ornaments, and delicate pendant details along its edge. The layered finial rises above the canopy and completes the design, bringing together the colorful gemstones, gold accents, detailed carvings, and traditional Himalayan decorative artistry.

In Tibetan Buddhist traditions, a chorten or stupa represents the enlightened mind, the Buddha's teachings, and the spiritual path toward awakening. Introduction of Kadampa Stupa

Historically, before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. While some were cremated, others were sometimes interred in a seated, meditative position, covered by a mound of earth. Consequently, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much like the Buddha when he attained Enlightenment and understood the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs in a meditative pose, the middle portion signifies the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Prior to the creation of human Buddha images, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
