About Our Product
This Tibetan Yamantaka Ghau Box Locket is handcrafted from silver, measuring 7.5cm in height, 7cm in length, and 2cm in width, with a weight of 0.076 kg. Created in 2000 by artist Ishwor Raj Shakya, this traditional Tibetan Buddhist prayer box features an intricate handcarved representation of Yamantaka on the front and a sacred Vishvavajra motif on the back. Its aged silver finish, detailed relief carvings, and colorful decorative accents reflect traditional Himalayan metal artistry. This silver Ghau box is suitable for personal shrines, Buddhist altars, meditation rooms, and collections of Tibetan religious artwork.
The Tibetan Ghau locket features a rectangular silver structure with Yamantaka depicted in a dynamic wrathful posture upon a lotus pedestal. The central deity displays multiple fierce faces, numerous arms holding ritual attributes, and extended legs surrounded by flowing flame-like patterns. Intricate carvings decorate the deity's ornaments, while turquoise-colored and red stone accents embellish the outer edges and corners. A raised beaded border frames the central design, and a small suspension loop appears at the top. The reverse side of the box features another detailed relief of Yamantaka, while the removable back panel displays a handcarved Vishvavajra, also known as the double vajra. The combination of intricate silver carvings and traditional Buddhist motifs highlights the craftsmanship of this Himalayan prayer amulet.
In Vajrayana Buddhism, Yamantaka is a wrathful manifestation of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, representing the overcoming of death, ignorance, and spiritual obstacles. His fierce appearance symbolizes the powerful transformation of negative emotions into enlightened wisdom, while his multiple arms and faces represent the many aspects of compassionate activity. The Vishvavajra carved on the back symbolizes stability, protection, and indestructible wisdom extending in all directions. Tibetan Ghau boxes are traditionally used to carry sacred mantras, blessed objects, or small religious relics as expressions of devotion. This handcarved silver Yamantaka Ghau locket is suitable for Buddhist prayers, meditation, shrine displays, and collections of Himalayan sacred artwork.
