About Our Product
This Ceremonial Kapala Set is a sacred Vajrayana altar ritual set made from a copper body with gold plating and silver plating. Each vessel measures 25cm in height, 14cm in length, and 14cm in width, with a single weight of 1.21 kg and a total weight of 2.36 kg. Designed as a pair, these kapala vessels bring a radiant ceremonial presence to Buddhist altars, shrine rooms, tantric practice spaces, and meditation settings.
A kapala, meaning “skull” or “head” in Sanskrit, is traditionally understood as a ritual cup connected with the deep Vajrayana teachings of impermanence, transformation, and transcendent wisdom. In symbolic practice, the kapala reminds practitioners that the body is temporary and that fear, attachment, and ego can be transformed into awakened awareness. Its use in tantric ritual also points to the transcendence of dualistic thinking, helping practitioners move beyond ordinary concepts of pure and impure, sacred and worldly.
This set features silver plated bowl sections held within ornate gold plated bases, with richly detailed lids crowned by vajra finials. The vajra represents indestructible wisdom, spiritual strength, and enlightened energy. During altar offerings, kapala vessels may be filled with symbolic substances such as wine or torma, representing the offering of ego, attachment, and sensory grasping into the path of wisdom. The carved floral patterns, raised borders, and ceremonial form make this Kapala Set meaningful for shrine arrangement, ritual display, meditation practice, and sacred collection.
Introduction To The Kapala :
The Kapala set holds the nectar used in higher esoteric rituals. It offers liberation to gods and deities to ensure their devotion. The offerings are said to be transformed into the Wisdom Nectar, a liquid form of the deity's Enlightened Mind.
