About The Sankha :
This Tibetan Ritual Conch Shell (Shankha) has a wonderfully carved brass inlay over a conch shell adorned with artificial turquoise and coral stones. This ceremonial piece is 13 cm tall, 28.5 cm wide, and weighs 0.91 kg. It is rich in spiritual significance and artistic depth. The intricate artwork incorporates auspicious themes, flower mandalas, and the Dharma symbol, making it both a spiritual instrument and a decorative ritual item.
In Buddhist practice, the conch shell is a sacred ceremonial instrument representing the spreading Dharma across the universe. It is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols (Ashtamangala) and is commonly blown during prayer rituals, festivities, or processions to purify the environment and bring benefits. The shining brass overlay symbolizes protection and spiritual strength, while the coral and turquoise stones represent compassion, healing, and divine insight.
