About Our Product
This Tibetan Altar Dipankara Buddha Statue shows Dipankara Buddha standing peacefully on a detailed pedestal. The statue is carefully made from Electric gold and measures 25.5 cm in height, 15 cm in length, and 7.5 cm in width, with a weight of 1.42 kg. His calm face, straight standing posture, and gently carved robe give the figure a peaceful and traditional appearance. Around his head is a round halo, while large lotus flowers rise on both sides, making the upper part of the sculpture especially distinctive.
This Dipankara's Statue is Shown his right hand is raised near his chest, while his left hand extends downward in a relaxed position. He is shown standing barefoot on a small lotus pedestal, which rests above a larger decorated base. His head has a neatly carved hair arrangement and is surrounded by a round halo. He wears simple ornaments around his neck and shoulders, while his robe falls naturally around his body with detailed borders and patterns. Behind him, large lotus flowers rise on both sides of the halo, with their curved stems framing his figure. The lotus pedestal and flowers add a peaceful feeling to the sculpture and represent purity and spiritual growth in Buddhist art.
Dipankara Buddha is an important figure in Buddhist tradition because of his connection with Sumedha, the ascetic who would later become Shakyamuni Buddha. According to the traditional story, Dipankara recognized Sumedha's spiritual potential and foretold his future Buddhahood. This makes Dipankara especially meaningful as a symbol of spiritual aspiration, wisdom, guidance, and the journey toward enlightenment. The statue can be placed on a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation area, or peaceful home space as a reminder to follow the path of learning, compassion, and inner growth.
Dipankara is a historical Buddha, supposed to have lived on Earth for a hundred thousand years. The number of Buddhas that have existed in theory is tremendous, and they are sometimes referred to as "Thousand Buddhas." Each was responsible for a life cycle. According to certain Buddhist sources, Dipankara (also Dipamkara) was a Buddha who attained enlightenment eons before Gautama. Dipankara is usually shown as a seated Buddha, but standing Buddhas are widespread in China, Thailand, and Nepal; he usually forms a protective mudra (Abhaya mudra) with his right hand, but he sometimes makes it with both hands.
