Maitreya is depicted seated on a throne with both feet resting on the ground or on a small platform, symbolizing his readiness to descend from Tushita heaven and enter the world as the next Buddha. His hands are held in front of his chest in the gesture of turning the Wheel of Dharma (Dharmachakra mudra), signifying the teaching of the Dharma. Maitreya is shown with lotuses at his sides, each supporting symbolic implements such as a Dharma wheel and a vase (kundika), indicating his role as a future teacher and his spiritual purity.

Introduction to Maitreya Buddha

Maitreya Buddha is a bodhisattva, or enlightened being, regarded as the future Buddha in many Mahayana Buddhist traditions. According to Buddhist belief, Maitreya will appear on earth to end suffering and spread Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is often depicted sitting on a lotus base with a serene expression, symbolizing his compassion and wisdom. He is also sometimes depicted holding a vase, symbolizing his role as a teacher and dispenser of Buddhist teachings. Maitreya is considered a beloved and revered figure in the Buddhist tradition, inspiring devotion and respect among practitioners.

How do you take care of your statues?
•    Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
•    Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
•    Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
•    Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.

• Handmade items may have slight variations

• Colors may differ slightly due to natural materials and lighting

Consecration Service Available

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.

Please Note: Once consecrated, the statue becomes a sacred object and cannot be returned or refunded.
