This vintage Newari thangka also known as Paubha in Nepal Bhasa, is a painting of White Tara, also known as Dolma was done before 2000. This painting is rare find these days. It is finished with natural stone colors and 24K gold.
About Goddess White Tara :
White Tara is the female Bodhisattva of compassionate activity, the supreme mother and collective manifestation of the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas. She is said to see all suffering and respond to requests for help. Her yogic method promotes health and extends one's lifespan.
In all the monasteries we can find Mother Tara mostly prayed for our protection from sickness, disease, untimely death, and accidents. White Tara represents purity.
