About The Ritual Item :
This Tantric Ritual Phurba is a sacred dagger used in Tibetan Buddhist practice, handcrafted from oxidized copper with a height of 25cm and a width of 7cm, weighing 0.51kg. The Phurba, or ritual dagger, is a powerful spiritual tool believed to dispel negativity, conquer obstacles, and protect practitioners during tantric ceremonies and meditation practices.
The oxidized copper body gives this Phurba an aesthetic while highlighting its intricate carvings and symbolic details. Its three-sided blade represents the cutting away of ignorance, desire, and hatred, the root causes of suffering, while its deity motifs embody divine power and protection. Ideal for display on an altar, within a meditation room, or as part of a Buddhist ritual set, this Phurba carries both cultural reverence and spiritual strength.
Introduction To The Phurba :
The ceremonial dagger (Sanskrit: Kila; Tibetan: phurba) is essential for expelling evil and is considered particularly effective in neutralizing the forces obstructing Tantric Buddhist practice. It has ancient origins, first appearing in the Indian Rig Veda as the core blade of the vajra used by Indra to destroy the primordial cosmic snake Vritra. Kila, derived from Sanskrit, was most likely associated with Vedic sacrifices. Meditation on the Vajrakila Tantra, an early Indian scripture first promoted in Tibet in the eighth century by Padmasambhava, one of the founding teachers of Tibetan Buddhism, is used to invoke the three-headed Vajrakila Buddha.
