Note: Simhamukha Thangka is an original painting from Enlightenment Studio located at Boudha Stupa.
Simhamukha, the female Buddha, has a lioness' face and a woman's physique. Her leonine face gleams with the sudden awareness of enlightenment. Her mouth is always open, roaring with uncontrollable rage and exultant laughter. Waves of pure, primal force erupt from her vivid physique. Simhamukha embodies the elemental vigor of a lioness on the prowl or sprinting after her prey. She is the embodiment of an unstoppable flood of energy that has leveled everything in its path. Her ferocious, feral demeanor embodies the ferocity necessary by people seeking ultimate reality. Her supernal fury is a relentless intolerance of everything that obstructs the flow of spiritual progress and enlightenment, rather than a selfish desire to defend or destroy.
