The statue is cast on a copper alloy body, handcrafted, and then painted with genuine 24k gold. The Enlightened being is depicted sitting atop a lotus seat with a calm expression. His right hand is downward in the earth-touching gesture (bhumisparsha mudra), with which he calls the earth goddess Sthavara to affirm that he is entitled to attain enlightenment, and in his right hand, he holds an alms bowl. His face is painted in 24k genuine 24k gold powder, making his face most delicate.
