Devi's knowledge is represented by Saraswati, the goddess of learning and the arts. She is the sun goddess, the river of consciousness that animates creation, whose beams dispel the darkness of ignorance. Without her, everything is in disorder. To comprehend her, one must look beyond the pleasures of the senses and seek inner serenity. She triumphs over sexual appetites and rejoices in mental powers as the patroness of the pure mind. She embodies all that is pure and good about nature.
