Sakya Mahakala Thangka
About our thangka
Sakya Mahakala is a significant figure in Tibetan Buddhism, worshipped as a protector and guardian. He uses symbolic tools such as a curved knife and a skull cup, which represent his power to remove ignorance and obstacles on the path to enlightenment. Despite his scary appearance, Sakya Mahakala expresses compassionate wrath, driven by a great concern for practitioners' spiritual well-being and the purity of Buddhist teachings. Devotees perform rituals to invoke his protective presence, seeing him as a defender against external threats and internal obstacles. His Sakya lineage emphasizes his responsibility to uphold the Dharma and support practitioners on their spiritual journeys.
This Sakya Mahakala Thangka serves as a powerful tool for spiritual practice and home decor.
