Hand-Painted Sacred White Tara Thangka | Symbol of Love and Protection

The Sacred White Tara Thangka is a divine hand-painted artwork created by skilled artists in the Kathmandu Valley, embodying the compassionate energy of the female Bodhisattva of longevity and healing. The authenticity of old spiritual art is preserved by the meticulous creation of this thangka on handmade cotton canvas, utilizing traditional Himalayan painting techniques. Genuine 24K gold accents add a beautiful spiritual glow to the sacred ornaments and divine atmosphere, while vivid acrylic colors enhance the surface and give the composition softness, clarity, and depth.

Tibetan Buddhism admires White Tara, also known as Sita Tara, as a symbol of compassion, wisdom, and longevity. Traditionally shown seated on a lotus, she demonstrates the purity and tranquillity achieved through compassion. White Tara is often associated with providing healing and protection and granting long life. At the same time, her multiple-eye depictions on her palms, feet, and forehead represent her vigilance and ability to see all beings suffering so she can assist them in attaining liberation from that suffering. Above her appear the five Dhyani Buddhas, representing the five transformed wisdoms of the enlightened mind—each one dissolving the five poisons of ignorance, attachment, anger, pride, and jealousy and guiding beings toward complete awakening through purified awareness. Below White Tara are Amitayus and Namgyalma, both powerful deities associated with longevity, vitality, and karmic purification. Amitayus represents infinite life force and spiritual longevity, often invoked for extending both physical life and inner realisation, while Namgyalma embodies purification of obstacles, karmic cleansing, and protection from untimely death.
