About Our Product

This Sacred Tibetan Prayer Wheel measures 16.5 cm in height, 40 cm in length, and 10 cm in width, with a weight of 0.81 kg. Made in 2016 by Mekhe, this prayer wheel features a richly decorated cylindrical body with silver-plated copper, partly gold-plated details, gemstones, coral, turquoise, and buffalo bone. The upper section is finished with a detailed finial, while the central body is decorated with rows of colorful stones, carved patterns, and a band of Tibetan script. A side chain with a small decorative weight adds to its traditional appearance.

This prayer wheel begins with an ornate golden finial above a decorated crown-like section covered with fine patterns and small gemstones. Below this are rows of turquoise, coral, and other colorful stones set around the circular body, giving the piece its distinctive appearance. The central band contains Tibetan script, followed by another decorated section with repeating stones and ornamental details. The lower part connects to a long handle with a silver-plated metal section and a buffalo bone grip, whose natural color variations make each section visually different. At the bottom, detailed metal carving features floral and scroll-like patterns with additional turquoise and coral accents, making the overall construction distinctive from simpler prayer wheel designs.

A Tibetan prayer wheel is traditionally associated with compassion, purification, and the recitation of Buddhist mantras. Its cylindrical body represents sacred prayers contained within, while the turning motion is connected with prayer and spiritual reflection. The combination of Tibetan script, gemstones, coral, turquoise, buffalo bone, silver plating, and partly gold-plated details gives this particular prayer wheel a unique character. It can be placed in a Buddhist shrine, meditation space, or spiritual setting as a meaningful symbol of compassion, devotion, and protection.

Introduction of Prayer Wheel

A prayer wheel is a cylindrical device mounted on a spindle, used in Tibetan Buddhism. It is typically inscribed with the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" and rotated by hand as a form of spiritual practice to accumulate merit. Spinning the wheel is believed to offer the same spiritual benefits as verbally reciting the mantra. The use of prayer wheels is widespread in Tibetan Buddhism and has spread to other cultures.
