For deep, earthy color tones, artists employ natural Lhasa stone pigments; for bright, religious highlights, they use genuine 24K gold. The painting gains strength, texture, and a genuine Himalayan base from the handmade cotton canvas. The example that he provides through teaching practitioners is to confront and transform fear or attachments into wisdom, illustrating how the process of spiritual awakening very often requires one to confront difficulties with courage in order to transcend them. Through Dorje Drolo, we learn that compassion can also be fierce and, as such, can create a pathway leading to liberation.
