About Our Product
This Sacred Bodhisattva Lokeshwor Statue is an exclusive antique Himalayan sculpture crafted in 1970 by the Late Lakhey Families of Patan, Nepal, a place renowned for its centuries-old tradition of metal craftsmanship. Created from copper with an antique finish, this large-scale artwork represents the artistic dedication and spiritual devotion preserved through generations of Newar artisans. The standing form of Lokeshwor, also known as Avalokiteshvara, embodies the enlightened quality of compassion and the wish to guide all beings toward peace and liberation.
In Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism, Lokeshwor, which translates to 'Lord of the World,' is a highly esteemed bodhisattva personifying unending mercy. Also known as Avalokiteshvara in Sanskrit, he is revered across East Asian, Tibetan, and Nepalese cultures. Lokeshwor is depicted in various forms, including those with four arms and a thousand arms, symbolizing his boundless compassion. The chant Om Mani Padme Hum, representing enlightenment and universal love, is closely associated with him. He is particularly revered in Nepal as Karunamaya and Matsyendranath. Devotees believe that invoking Lokeshwor's blessings fosters kindness and wisdom, leading to freedom from pain.

During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. The level of craftsmanship by the artisans with Evam Ratna is truly exceptional.. The photos on the website showcase these beautiful items, but the special quality of their presence is felt when beheld directly. When I opened the carefully constructed package and encountered the ghanta, vajra,, rupa, and damaru tassels directly, I was overjoyed. I could feel the heart and care that went into their creation.

The Manjushri statue I purchased is of very high quality and has tremendous presence on my altar, far exceeding my expectations. It was well packed and arrived surprisingly quickly. Evam Ratna kept me informed throughout the process and even shared additional photos before shipping to ensure I was aware that the statue had oxidized somewhat since the pictures on the site were taken (not an issue but really appreciate the transparency). Thanks again for the beautiful statue -- I'll be a frequent visitor to the website in the future!
The statue came in excellent condition! I was worried especially since I had it consecrated before shipping (which evamratna offers for a fee if you ask!) But the statue came perfectly. Also, it was way bigger than I anticipated which was a lovely surprise, because usually the statues come smaller than I thought when initially buying them. These statues are pricy, but I recommend having at least one in your collection if you can afford it. You’re also supporting local Nepalese craftsmen, and the price I find is reasonable for most people.
