About Our Rice Pot

This exquisite rice pot with silver plating, standing at a height of 28.5 cm with a base of 11.5 cm, is an example of intricate craftsmanship. Made from copper with silver plating, the pot is adorned with vibrant artificial stones, including turquoise, amber, and coral. The smooth silver-plated surface contrasts beautifully with the colorful stones, giving the piece a radiant, decorative appeal. The pot is carefully layered, with each layer featuring its distinctive carvings. The overall design not only serves as a decorative item but also holds deep symbolic meaning, especially in Buddhist and cultural contexts.

The first layer of the pot features finely carved animal motifs, such as the pig and horse, which are representative of various symbolic meanings. They used to survive with the monks' offerings, usually rice, food, or money. Even today, such practice exists in some parts.
