The Red Amitayus Buddha is a sacred original artwork from our studio, painted on cotton canvas using natural stone colors and 24K gold. The use of natural stone colors, carefully ground from minerals, produces a soft, matte texture that allows for delicate shading and harmonious hues. The gold is applied to accentuate the jewelry and sacred ornaments, imparting the thangka with a divine and luminous presence. This artwork is rooted in the Karma Gadri style, a classical Tibetan painting known for its refined compositions and flowing landscapes. The serene background emphasizes Amitayus' central figure while maintaining aesthetic balance.
Amitayus, also known as the Buddha of Infinite Life, is a form of Amitabha associated with longevity, vitality, and compassion. He is often visualized in longevity practices aimed at prolonging life and removing obstacles to enlightenment. In this thangka, he is depicted with a radiant red body, seated in meditative stillness on a lotus seat, symbols of pure awareness and spiritual awakening. His hands rest in the dhyana mudra, holding a vase filled with the nectar of immortality, signifying the gift of eternal life and healing. He is adorned with a crown of five jewels, flowing scarves, and layered silk robes, all of which symbolize regal splendor and a state of enlightened tranquility. The halo behind his head and gentle green terrain enhance the peaceful atmosphere.
