Hand-painted Purification Deity Vajrasattva Thangka | Bell and Vajra Holder
The Purification Deity Vajrasattva thangka shows the ability to remove bad karma, bring back spiritual purity, and awaken natural wisdom. This sacred thangka is hand-painted by skilled artists in the Kathmandu Valley on handmade cotton canvas using traditional Himalayan techniques. Acrylic paints are used to add bright colors to the peaceful white figure of Vajrasattva, heavenly palaces, gods, and detailed offerings, while genuine 24K gold highlights the crown, jewelry, halos, and sacred designs, making the artwork glow with a pure spiritual energy.
Vajrasattva is an essential figure within Vajrayana Buddhism, representing the ideas of purification and the everlasting nature of the mind. Shown as being calm and meditative while sitting on a lotus, he has a thunderbolt (vajra) and a bell, which represent the combination of wisdom and skillful means. He is white in colour, which illustrates the clarity and unchanging nature of the mind as well as the boundless wisdom of the Buddha. He is called upon in purification ceremonies primarily to remove negative karma and internal difficulties. His mantra is recited to help purify the bodies and minds of practitioners. The presence of Vajrasattva represents the ability for deep transformation, leading practitioners toward clarity and liberation from the karma of their previous lives. Surrounding him are peaceful Bodhisattvas, lineage masters, and tantric deities who represent different aspects of enlightened awareness and purification practices.
