Authentic Paubha Style White Tara | Traditional Healing Art for Long Life

Paubha Style White Tara Seated on a Lotus and Adorned in Jewels

Carefully hand-painted on a black canvas with glowing gold accents, the Paubha Style White Tara thangka is a stunning representation of a work of art. By creating a celestial glow that reflects White Tara's enlightened attributes, this traditional technique emphasizes her divine presence. Each sacred element is brought to life through the painting's shimmers, intricate patterns, and delicate brushwork, which are painted using acrylic colors and genuine 24K gold. Every small detail, from the folds of her garments to the elaborate decorations of her throne, is illuminated by the gold highlights, which give depth and perspective. This thangka is a powerful symbol of spiritual awakening since the contrast between the black and gold hues represents the victory of wisdom over ignorance.

White Tara, also known as Sita Tara, is a revered figure in Tibetan Buddhism. She embodies healing, longevity, and compassion, with seven eyes on her forehead, palms, and soles. In a meditative vajra posture, she exudes peace and wisdom. Her intricate ornaments and gold embellishments, including a jeweled crown, necklaces, armlets, and anklets, reflect her enlightened qualities. Draped in a flowing silk robe, her intricate designs showcase the artist's mastery of creating depth and texture. Her right hand extends in a gesture of giving, while her left hand holds a blooming lotus, symbolizing purity and liberation from suffering. The garments feature golden motifs in shades of blue and red, making her presence majestic and soothing.

The Paubha-style thangka features a unique throne of White Tara, a two-tiered structure that represents compassion and longevity. The throne is supported by mythical creatures and sacred symbols, embodying protection, wisdom, and divine guardianship, such as elephants, nagakanya, and garuda (a celestial bird) depicted in a dynamic posture, clutching a serpent, dispelling obstacles and negativity. These figures blend into the surrounding embellishments, blending the Newari aesthetic with profound Buddhist symbolism, creating a powerful and unique representation of the thangka.

The upper tier of the throne is designed as an ornate golden halo that radiates light. This shimmering effect enhances her ethereal presence, making her the composition's focal point. The halo is embellished with flowing floral patterns, reflecting purity, peace, and the blooming of wisdom.
