Palden Lhamo Also Known As Shri Devi, Black Thangka
Palden Lhamo is portrayed here in the traditional nakthang (black thangka) style. She is seen crossing the sea of blood riding side-saddle on a white mule. Nakthang is very unique in relation to ordinary Thankas, as the foundation is totally dark and the work is executed almost completely in gold. Black Thangkas generally depict the wrathful deities. The origin of this style is quite interesting.

Palden Lhamo (Sanskrit: Shri Devi; Mongolian: Ukin Tengri) in Vajrayana is a protecting Dharmapala of the teachings of Gautama Buddha. She is one of the 5 Tseringma or Long-life Sisters and consort of Mahakala; She is also Magzor Gyalmo, the Queen of Armies, and is also considered a wrathful emanation of Saraswati. Any genuine undertaking of her practice is always done with a self-visualization of some wrathful form of Manjushri, the bodhisattva of wisdom. Most Tibetan ancestries have some form of this deity, commonly found in Gelugpa and Sakya paintings.

We are a team of traditionally trained Karma Gadri artists from Boudha Stupa. Our lineage comes from Venerable Master Jamyang Phunshok. Who is from Kham, Eastern Tibet.
We are focused on bringing accurate iconographic thangka, which will be helpful to your practice.

CONSECRATION OF THANGKA
As requested for consecrations/blessings, we can take thangka to Monasteries/Rinpoches from nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $20 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration service.

Consecration of Thangka Print
At the EvamRatna, the consecration procedure entails a precisely planned set of rituals and ceremonies. As requested for consecration/ blessing, we take the thangka print to respective Monasteries.
