Palden Lhamo is one of the most revered female protector deities in Tibetan Buddhism, known as a guardian of the Dharma and a symbol of enlightened protection. She is traditionally depicted riding side-saddle on a white mule across a sea of blood, with the mule featuring an eye on its left rump, a distinctive element from her traditional story. Her wrathful expression, flowing hair, crown, and ornaments represent powerful protective activity.
