About Our Product
This Padmasambhava Home Shrine Statue measures 25cm in height, 16cm in length, and 12cm in width, with a weight of 1.75 kg. Handcrafted from copper, this sculpture is finished with gold plating and detailed acrylic coloring. The figure is richly adorned with an elaborate lotus hat, layered jewelry, patterned robes, and a vividly painted lotus pedestal. The extensive color work across the garments, ornaments, and base brings definition to the intricate sculptural details.
Padmasambhava is depicted seated in a relaxed posture upon an elaborately decorated lotus pedestal, wearing his distinctive lotus hat. His right hand holds a vajra, while his left hand supports a skull cup containing a small vessel. A khatvanga staff rests beside his shoulder, decorated with colorful details and symbolic elements. The crown, earrings, necklaces, arm ornaments, garments, and lotus pedestal are all carefully rendered with intricate patterns and vibrant acrylic painting. The rear of the sculpture continues the detailed treatment, with colorful designs covering the flowing robes and ornamental base.
Also known as Guru Rinpoche, Padmasambhava is one of the most revered masters in Vajrayana Buddhism and is traditionally associated with the transmission of Buddhist teachings in Tibet. His distinctive attributes, including the vajra, skull cup, lotus hat, and khatvanga, form an important part of his traditional iconography. This Padmasambhava Home Shrine Statue is suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, Dharma centers, monasteries, or collections of Himalayan Buddhist artwork.
Introduction of Guru Rinpoche
Guru Rinpoche, also known as Padmasambhava, was an instrumental figure in Tibetan Buddhism. Believed to have introduced Buddhism to Tibet in the eighth century, he is revered as the 'Second Buddha.' His teachings are recognized through an oral lineage (kama) and a lineage of hidden treasure texts (termas). Guru Rinpoche is believed to appear in visionary encounters to tertöns, and his form is visualized during guru yoga practice, particularly within the Nyingma school. He is honored by Buddhists across Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, India's Himalayan states, and other global regions.
