About Our Product
This Historical Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture represents the enlightened teacher and founder of Buddhism, capturing the peaceful presence and spiritual wisdom of Buddha Shakyamuni through traditional Himalayan craftsmanship. Measuring 14.5cm in height, 10cm in length, and 7cm in width, with a weight of 0.66kg, this sculpture is crafted from an oxidized copper body that highlights the depth of the carving and gives the piece an antique appearance. The finely worked surface, serene expression, and detailed robe patterns reflect the devotion and skill behind traditional Buddhist statue making.
Shakyamuni Buddha is depicted seated upon a beautifully carved lotus throne in the Bhumisparsha Mudra, with his right hand extending downward to touch the earth, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment and his awakening beneath the Bodhi tree. His left hand rests in meditation while holding the alms bowl, representing spiritual nourishment and the monastic path. The sculpture features his characteristic curled hair, elongated ears, calm facial expression, and gracefully carved robes adorned with detailed patterns, embodying wisdom, compassion, and inner peace.
This Shakyamuni Buddha sculpture serves as a meaningful representation of Buddhist teachings and the path toward enlightenment. Suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, prayer rooms, or sacred collections, this oxidized copper artwork brings a sense of tranquility and contemplation. Through its traditional iconography and refined craftsmanship, it reflects the enduring legacy of Himalayan Buddhist art and the teachings of the historical Buddha.
Introduction of Shakyamuni Buddha
Siddhartha Gautama, born as the crown prince of the mighty Shakya Kingdom, was raised as a king according to his royal father's wishes. Around the age of 29, he became aware of the immense suffering experienced by people. He renounced his palatial lifestyle, lavish clothing, and fortune to discover the source of this anguish and find a cure. After over six years of study, self-denial, and intense concentration, he finally achieved his objective, attaining nirvana (becoming a Buddha). He then stated that he had visited a deer park outside Sarnath (Benares), near Varanasi, India.
