Introduction To The Thangka :

This dazzling portrayal of the oil-varnished Lokeshvara Mandala combines ageless spirituality with creative excellence. Lokeshvara, the embodiment of compassion, sits at the center of the mandala, which conveys a peaceful but strong presence. Lokeshvara is surrounded by elaborate patterns and motifs that have been skillfully painted with oil varnish to enhance their richness and depth. Every aspect of the mandala, from the delicate lotus petals to the vivid colors of heavenly creatures, represents the interdependence of all beings and the Bodhisattva's unbounded compassion. Regardless of your religious affiliation, a thangka can help you on your path to enlightenment, whether you practice Buddhism or have other religious convictions. Thangkas are paintings that depict deities with various iconographic elements and symbolism that encourage meditation on the teachings of the god they depict. Any thangka is intended to aid in the removal of the film of ignorance, which is a significant barrier to the road to enlightenment. The Thangka is revered as a holy item.
