Yonchap, Tibetan Water Offering Bowls Ting Set

Yonchap or Tibetan Offering Bowls, these bowls represent the craftsmanship of the primitive artisans of city of Patan, Nepal. Decorated with the Eight Auspicious Buddhist Symbols, it is the most common form of offering in Tibetan Buddhist shrines, also known as "Yongchap" or "Tin" in Tibetan, and is made up of seven bowls.

In Tibetan Buddhist Shrines, Offering bowls are the most common type of offering of the seven bowls. Buddhists serve water with butter lamps first thing in the morning and light incense sticks, as part of ther daily ritual practice. We usually remove the bowls and turn them upside down at the end of each day before sunset. It is a way to offer offerings to Buddha and Bodhisattva in four directions.
