About Our Product
This Namgyal Chorten Stupa measures 31 cm in height, 15 cm in length, and 15 cm in width, with a weight of 2.47 kg. It is crafted with a copper body and finished with gold plating and acrylic color, with gemstone, coral, and turquoise details decorating the surface. The combination of rich gold and deep red tones gives the chorten a traditional Tibetan appearance, while the detailed ornamentation makes it suitable for a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation space, or prayer area.
This Namgyal Chorten features carefully arranged traditional details. At the top is a flame shaped finial with a circular ornament, followed by a decorated crown section and a tall stepped spire made of repeated horizontal bands. Two long curved ornaments extend down both sides of the spire and finish with curled designs. Below the spire is a large central section containing a small seated sacred figure within an arched niche surrounded by carved scroll patterns. The lower section continues with several rounded and stepped levels, followed by a broad square pedestal decorated with floral motifs, scrollwork, and gemstone, coral, and turquoise accents. The detailed carving and decoration continue to the bottom base, showing careful Tibetan craftsmanship from top to end.
The Namgyal Chorten is a sacred Buddhist form associated with spiritual victory, protection, and the progress toward enlightenment. The upward structure represents the gradual path from ordinary awareness toward wisdom and awakening, while the central sacred image adds a devotional focus to the chorten. Its layered form and rich ornamentation make it a meaningful symbol of Buddhist practice, devotion, peace, and spiritual aspiration. It can be placed on a Buddhist altar, shrine, meditation area, prayer room, monastery, or sacred home setting.
Introduction of Stupa
Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
