About Our Statue 
Medicine Buddha for wellness statue stands 8.3 inches (21 cm) tall with a 5.5-inch (14 cm) base, and weighs 1.26 kg. Made from copper, it is richly gilded in 24K gold and adorned with detailed gold and acrylic paintings, highlighting the serene and compassionate presence of Bhaisajyaguru, the Buddha of Healing. Revered in Tibetan Buddhism as the embodiment of physical and spiritual healing, this statue is ideal for meditation, altar displays, or as a powerful symbol of wellness and restoration. Its compact size makes it suitable for personal spaces while retaining the sacred elegance of traditional Buddhist art.

The Medicine Buddha is depicted seated in the lotus position (padmasana), symbolizing meditation and spiritual focus. The right hand is extended over the knee with the palm facing outward to grant boons (varada mudra). The hand holds the stem of a medicinal plant, usually the myrobalan fruit (Terminalia chebula), which represents the healing of physical and mental suffering. The Medicine Buddha is dressed in the simple robes of a Buddhist monk, emphasizing renunciation and discipline.

Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is a revered figure in Mahayana Buddhism known as the Buddha of healing and medicine, who heals suffering through the medicine of his teachings. His attributes —the medicinal plant and the healing bowl —highlight his role as the divine physician who cures suffering through both spiritual and physical medicine.

Introduction to Medicine Buddha:

The healing energy of all enlightened beings is manifested in the Sangye Menla, also known as the Medicine Buddha. He is highly revered in all Buddhist traditions, but is particularly notable for his pledge to help beings overcome the mental and physical ailments that hinder their spiritual practice. Menla Sangay is considered highly effective for healing and developing a compassionate heart, as he embodies the ideal balance between spirituality and science in medicine.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet. 
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.

Consecration Service Available

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
