This Maya Devi Mother of Buddha Statue is a finely handcrafted representation of Queen Maya Devi, the mother of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, created by artist Amir Shakya in 2019. The sculpture features a copper body enhanced with a gold-gilded finish, highlighting the elegant details of her crown, jewelry, flowing garments, and graceful standing posture. The intricate patterns on her attire, carefully carved ornaments, and refined surface details reflect the traditional craftsmanship of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture. Queen Maya Devi is depicted in a graceful standing form, traditionally associated with the sacred moment of Buddha’s birth in Lumbini. She is shown extending one arm upward while holding the branch of a Sala tree, recalling the traditional accounts of her giving birth to Siddhartha Gautama while standing beneath the tree.
