About Our Product:
This Manjushri Buddhist Deity Sculpture measures 14.5cm in height and 9cm in width, with a weight of 0.31 kg. Crafted from oxidized copper, this compact sculpture features a richly detailed central figure surrounded by an elaborate ornamental aureole. The dark copper finish emphasizes the depth of the carving across the figure, lotus pedestal, decorative frame, and lower base, giving the piece a distinctive traditional Himalayan appearance.
Manjushri is depicted seated within an ornate aureole, holding the characteristic flaming sword associated with his iconography. His crowned head, facial features, jewelry, garments, and body are carefully modeled, while flowing decorative elements extend around the figure. The lotus pedestal is formed with repeated petal motifs, and the lower base features a raised Tibetan inscription surrounded by decorative borders. The reverse continues the sculptural form of the aureole and reveals the detailed construction of the figure and supporting elements.
Manjushri is revered in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism as a bodhisattva associated with transcendent wisdom and insight. His sword traditionally symbolizes the cutting through of ignorance and confusion. This sculpture can be displayed on a Buddhist altar, home shrine, meditation space, Dharma center, monastery, or within a collection of Himalayan Buddhist artwork.
Introduction to Manjushri:
Manjushri means "very auspicious" in Sanskrit. He is one of the most compassionate bodhisattvas and is particularly famous among Tibetan Buddhists. As the Buddha Resplendent, he resembles a brilliant sun. Manjushri is a Tibetan name that means "good companion." He also represents the Kadampa Buddhist tradition, which its scholars recognize.
How do you take care of your statues?
Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
Ensure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe your face. Directly touching objects with your bare hands can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
