Traditionally Gold Painted Maitreya Buddha Thangka

This Maitreya Buddha thangka was traditionally hand-painted in the Karma Gadri style by our artist. The deity is portrayed atop a moon disc lotus throne beneath the beautiful sky, with a serene expression. The artisan from Kathmandu Valley meticulously painted it in genuine 24k gold and natural stone color, which took more than a month to finish. The vivid halo and beautiful ornaments illuminate his face. This elegant art of Tibet will be an excellent gift for a practitioner like you.

Maitreya, in Buddhist tradition, the future Buddha, presently a bodhisattva residing in the Tushita heaven, who will descend to earth to preach anew the dharma (“law”) when the teachings of Gautama Buddha have completely decayed. Maitreya is the earliest Bodhisattva around whom a cult developed and is mentioned in scriptures from the 3rd century CE. He was accepted by all schools of Buddhism and is still the only bodhisattva generally honored by the Theravada tradition.

OUR TEAM
We are a team of traditionally trained Karma Gadri artists from Boudha Stupa. Our lineage comes from Venerable Master Jamyang Phunshok. Who is from Kham, Eastern Tibet.

We are focused on bringing accurate iconographic thangka, which will be helpful to your practice.

We do traditional brocade mount upon your request. We send available samples and price details for your final confirmation.

CONSECRATION OF THANGKA
As requested for consecrations/blessings, we can take thangka to Monasteries/Rinpoches from nearby Boudha Stupa. We kindly ask you to offer $20 for the monasteries for blessings/consecration service.

Consecration of Thangka Print
At the EvamRatna, the consecration procedure entails a precisely planned set of rituals and ceremonies. As requested for consecration/ blessing, we take the thangka print to respective Monasteries.
