About Our Product
This Mahasiddha Virupa Sculpture is a finely handcrafted Himalayan Buddhist artwork created in 2023 by artist Amir Shakya. The sculpture features a copper body with 24K gold plating and detailed acrylic color work, showcasing traditional metal craftsmanship through its expressive posture, ornamental details, and carefully painted features. The gilded surface highlights the intricate jewelry, robes, facial expression, and lotus base, while the colorful details bring depth and character to this representation of one of the great Mahasiddhas of Vajrayana Buddhism.
The statue depicts Mahasiddha Virupa in his renowned dynamic posture, seated with one hand raised upward in a gesture associated with stopping the movement of the sun, a famous episode from his life story. His other hand holds a skull cup, while his expressive face, ornaments, meditation posture, and distinctive appearance reflect the traditional iconography of a realized tantric master. The elaborate crown, jewelry, flowing garments, and lotus seat showcase the symbolic richness of Himalayan Buddhist sculpture, representing spiritual accomplishment, wisdom, and mastery of tantric practice.
This Mahasiddha Virupa Statue is suitable for Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, shrine rooms, monasteries, Vajrayana collections, and collectors of Himalayan sacred art. Created by Amir Shakya in 2023, this handcrafted sculpture combines traditional Buddhist symbolism with refined copper craftsmanship, making it a meaningful representation of the lineage, teachings, and artistic heritage associated with the Mahasiddhas.
