About Our Product
This Mahasiddha Naropa Buddhist Sculpture measures 34 cm in height, 28 cm in length, and 19.5 cm in width, with a weight of 7.14 kg. Handcrafted from a copper body, it is finished with 24K gold plating and acrylic color, then accented with gemstone, coral, and turquoise details. The sculpture presents Naropa in a seated meditative posture, with a richly ornamented crown, expressive facial features, layered garments, and carefully worked decorative elements that reflect traditional Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship.
This Mahasiddha Naropa Buddhist Sculpture is crowned with an elaborate jeweled headdress decorated with turquoise and coral accents, while large earrings frame his calm and attentive face. His right hand is raised with the palm facing outward in a gesture associated with teaching, blessing, and spiritual transmission, while his left hand rests open upon the knee, expressing receptivity and meditative awareness. Flowing robes and yogic ornaments cover the body, emphasizing his identity as a great tantric master and accomplished practitioner. He sits cross legged upon a lotus base, a symbol of spiritual awakening and purity. Naropa is remembered in Vajrayana Buddhism as an important Mahasiddha whose teachings emphasize devotion, realization, discipline, and the direct path toward enlightenment.
This handmade Tibetan Buddhist sculpture can be placed on a home altar, shrine table, meditation space, yoga room, monastery, or temple setting. It is especially meaningful for practitioners inspired by Vajrayana teachings, guru devotion, meditation, and the Mahasiddha tradition. Keeping the sculpture in a sacred space can support mindfulness, contemplation, devotion, and a peaceful atmosphere during daily spiritual practice. It can also serve as a meaningful spiritual gift for Buddhist practitioners, collectors of Himalayan art, or anyone interested in the teachings and lineage connected with Naropa.
Introduction To Naropa:
Naropa was an Indian Buddhist yogi and scholar who was considered one of the key figures in the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. His most famous disciple was Tilopa. Naropa enrolled in the renowned Buddhist University in Nalanda when he was 28 and began studying Tantra and Sutra. He had a reputation as a brilliant student and flawless debater, which was crucial at the time because the debate custom dictated that the loser became the winner's student by default. He finally earned the title "Guardian of the Northern Gate" after participating in numerous arguments, teaching, and winning over multiple pupils.
