He eventually regretted these actions and sought guidance from the great Indian master Marpa, who accepted him as his student after rigorous testing. Marpa gave Milarepa the name Milarepa, which translates to "Crazy Miller," a nickname given to him due to his eccentric appearance and behavior during his early days as a disciple. Milarepa persevered through immense hardships and meditation, ultimately achieving the realization of Vajradharahood, as foretold by Marpa. He became one of Tibet’s most celebrated yogis and poets, with a significant legacy in the Drukpa Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.
