Longchenpa is a great luminary of Tibetan Buddhism. He was highly skilled in all aspects of scholarship from an early age and excelled throughout his life in the practice and accomplishment of the Dharma. Regarded as a great Dzogchen master, Longchenpa had many pure visions where he was given direct instructions from Guru Padmasambhava and is recognized as an emanation of Vimalamitra. Longchenpa’s prolific writings have made him one of Tibet’s most renowned and precious teachers.

Longchenpa is widely regarded as the most influential author on Dzogchen teachings. He studied and mastered every one of the various Buddhist vehicles and lineages of teachings that existed in Tibet at the time, earning him a reputation as a peerless teacher, diligent practitioner, and unrivaled scholar. His written works are renowned for transferring actual blessings simply by reading or hearing his enlightened remarks. He was able to reconcile the seeming differences and contradictions between the many presentations of the view and the path among the many transmission lines through his brilliant intellect and meditation ability in his teachings and written works. He was a prolific writer and researcher and a Dzogchen text compiler.
