Himalayan Long Life Deity White Tara Thangka | Female Buddha
The Long Life Deity White Tara thangka is meticulously hand-painted by skilled artists at Enlightenment Studio and created on handmade cotton canvas using traditional Himalayan techniques. Natural gesso is applied in layers to the canvas to produce a smooth, long-lasting surface that enables accurate brushstrokes and fine details. Natural stone pigments create the vivid, long-lasting hues that bring life to White Tara's robes, lotus throne, and sacred decorations. Genuine 24K gold highlights her crown, halo, and ornamental elements, imparting a radiant and auspicious glow to the thangka. Painted in accordance with the Karma Gadri tradition, this piece of art blends profound spiritual meaning with traditional Himalayan workmanship, making it a meditation focus for longevity, protection, and loving benefits as well as a devotional masterpiece.
Tibetan Buddhism admires White Tara, also known as Sita Tara, as a symbol of compassion, wisdom, and longevity. Traditionally shown seated on a lotus, she demonstrates the purity and tranquillity achieved through compassion. White Tara is often associated with providing healing, protection, and granting long life. At the same time, her multiple-eye depictions on her palms, feet, and forehead represent her vigilance and ability to see all beings suffering so she can assist them in attaining liberation from that suffering. When invoked for practitioners’ longevity and well-being, she is thought to provide both spiritual and physical healing through her mantras. For practitioners, White Tara’s serene presence serves as a constant reminder to develop compassion, patience, and mindfulness throughout the journey towards enlightenment, with an emphasis on healing both self and others.
