Amitayus is traditionally portrayed as a peaceful Buddha adorned with the ornaments of a Bodhisattva. He sits in vajra posture with both hands resting in his lap in the meditation mudra, traditionally holding a vase of longevity (kalasha) containing the nectar of immortality.
