About Our Product
This Lama Je Tsongkhapa Sculpture measures 23.5 cm in height, 14.5 cm in length, and 9.5 cm in width, with a weight of 1.36 kg. Crafted from a copper body, it is finished with 24K gold plating and acrylic color that highlights the face, robes, and ornamental details. The figure is shown seated in a composed meditative posture, wearing the distinctive yellow hat associated with the Gelug tradition, while the warm red and gold tones give the sculpture a refined Himalayan appearance suited to Buddhist altars, meditation spaces, and sacred collections.
This Lama Je Tsongkhapa Sculpture is depicted from top to bottom with the pointed yellow pandita hat rising above his calm face, symbolizing his role as a great scholar and teacher. His hands are held near the heart in the Dharmachakra Mudra, the gesture of turning the Wheel of Dharma, representing the teaching and transmission of Buddhist wisdom. Lotus stems rise beside both shoulders and support his traditional attributes, the sword of wisdom and the scripture of transcendent knowledge, symbolizing the cutting of ignorance and the realization of profound understanding. His layered monastic robes are carefully modeled across the body, and he sits cross legged upon a lotus base, a symbol of purity and spiritual awakening. Tsongkhapa represents disciplined study, ethical practice, wisdom, compassion, and the path toward enlightenment.
This Tibetan Buddhist sculpture can be placed on a home altar, shrine table, meditation room, monastery, temple, or dedicated study space. It is especially meaningful for practitioners connected with the Gelug tradition or those inspired by Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and disciplined spiritual practice. The sculpture can support devotion, mindfulness, study, and contemplation while creating a peaceful atmosphere for daily practice. It can also serve as a meaningful spiritual gift for Buddhist practitioners, teachers, students, or collectors of Himalayan sacred art.
Introduction To Tsongkhapa
Tsongkhapa founded the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism and is remembered for his scholarly achievements and the founding of the Ganden Monastery. Je Gyaltsab, his first successor, was instrumental in safeguarding Tsongkhapa's teachings and expanding the Gelug lineage. The second successor, Je Khedrup, made substantial contributions to the intellectual foundation of the Gelug school and its spread throughout Tibet. All three are dressed in monastic robes and yellow caps, showing their commitment to the Gelug tradition.
