Crafted from oxidized copper with 24K gold gilding, detailed gold and acrylic paintings, and adorned with gemstones, this statue exemplifies skilled Nepali craftsmanship. This Kshitigarbha statue is depicted seated in the padmāsana (lotus posture) on a lotus base, symbolizing purity and spiritual awakening. He wears a five-pointed crown representing the Five Dhyani Buddhas, signifying his enlightened qualities. In his right hand, he holds a staff (khakkhara), symbolizing spiritual authority and the guiding of beings on the path. Introduction To Kshitigarbha:

A bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism, Kshitigarbha is sometimes called Ksitigarbha or Jizo in Japanese. He is respected as the world's defender and protector and is known as the bodhisattva of the earth. It is said that Kshitigarbha pledged to prevent suffering in all creatures and postpone his own enlightenment until all beings had been rescued.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by a Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face. Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.
