About Our Product

This Himalayan Kadampa Chorten is crafted from a copper body with 24K gold plating, measuring 18cm in height, 9cm in length, and 9cm in width, with a weight of 0.67 kg. Featuring a traditional Tibetan Buddhist stupa design, this sacred monument represents enlightenment, wisdom, and the teachings of the Buddha. Its golden finish, tiered structure, and detailed ornamental carvings reflect the artistic traditions of Himalayan Buddhist craftsmanship. This gold-plated Kadampa Chorten is suitable for monastery altars, personal shrines, meditation rooms, spiritual home decor, and collections of sacred Buddhist artwork.

The Kadampa Chorten features a circular, stepped base supporting a rounded central section and an elongated, tiered spire. The lower portion displays raised decorative bands, carved lotus petals, and ornamental borders that create a layered appearance. Above the central section, a square platform supports the ribbed spire, which gradually narrows toward the top. A decorative lotus-inspired crown and pointed finial complete the upper structure. The 24K gold-plated surface displays warm golden tones, highlighting the raised carvings, smooth sections, and traditional Himalayan stupa design.

In Tibetan Buddhism, the Kadampa Chorten symbolizes the enlightened mind of the Buddha and the spiritual path toward liberation. Its ascending structure represents the gradual development of wisdom, compassion, and spiritual understanding, while the upper spire symbolizes progress toward enlightenment. Stupas are traditionally regarded as sacred representations of Buddhist teachings and serve as objects of devotion and contemplation. This gold-plated Himalayan Chorten is suitable for daily prayers, meditation, Buddhist altar offerings, shrine decoration, and devotional practices. It also makes a meaningful spiritual gift for Buddhist practitioners and collectors of Himalayan religious artwork.

Introduction of Stupa

Before Buddhism, great teachers were buried in mounds. Some were cremated, but sometimes they were buried in a seated, meditative position. The mound of earth covered them up. Thus, the domed shape of the stupa came to represent a person seated in meditation, much as the Buddha was when he achieved Enlightenment and knowledge of the Four Noble Truths. The base of the stupa represents his crossed legs as he sat in a meditative pose. The middle portion is the Buddha’s body, and the top of the mound, where a pole rises from the apex surrounded by a small fence, represents his head. Before images of the human Buddha were created, reliefs often depicted practitioners demonstrating devotion to a stupa.
