About our Statue:

This Himalayan Copper Shakyamuni Buddha Sculpture stands 8.9” (22.5 cm) in height with a base width of 5.7” (14.5 cm) and weighs 1.19 kg. Crafted from a copper body and adorned with gold electroplating and delicate gold and acrylic paintings, it is expertly handcrafted by skilled Nepali artisans. Reflecting both spiritual reverence and traditional craftsmanship, this sculpture makes a meaningful addition to altars, meditation areas, or personal sacred spaces.

In its iconography, Shakyamuni Buddha is seated in padmāsana (lotus posture) upon a moon-disc lotus base, with the right hand in bhūmisparśa mudrā (earth-touching gesture) symbolizing his enlightenment. The left hand rests in his lap, holding an alms bowl, representing renunciation and simplicity, while the presence of the uṣṇīṣa (cranial protuberance) signifies his awakened wisdom.

Introduction to Shakyamuni Buddha:

Shakyamuni Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama, was a spiritual teacher who lived in India around the 5th–4th century BCE and became the historical founder of Buddhism. After attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, he spent his life teaching the Dharma—the path to liberation from suffering—through wisdom, ethical conduct, and meditation.

How do you take care of your statues?

• Place them at room temperature, avoiding direct sunlight.
• Make sure that the area where your statue is placed is entirely free of moisture and dust.
• Place it at the highest place on your altar after being consecrated by the Lama/monks. The best practice is to keep them covered inside a glass cabinet.
• Do not use your bare hands or any objects with a rough surface to wipe the face.
• Directly touching objects with the bare hand can smudge the face, leaving scratches.

Consecration Service Available

Each statue contains a sacred chamber for mantra and relic fillings to bestow spiritual empowerment. During consecration, these sacred items are placed inside and blessed through traditional rituals performed by the ordained monks. There is a fee for this service, offered as a respectful contribution to the monastery.
